Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan passed away

A deep sorrow for the news of the passing, on January 15, 2023, at age 84, of our master Yoshimitsu Yamada Shihan, and for the lack of his presence, from now on, in the tatami mats of the world of Aikido.
Eighth dan of Aikido, born on February 17, 1938, in Tokyo, Japan.
He studied at Aoyama Gakuin University.
In 1955 he was accepted as an Uchideshi (boarding student) at Hombu Dojo, to study AIKIDO with Grand Master MORIHEI UESHIBA, with whom he remained for more than 10 years.
In 1964 he traveled to the United States for the New York World's Fair and established his school, New York Aikikai, which would become the largest and most successful in that country.
He was also president of the United States Aikido Federation.
And Aikido Sansuikai International, to which our Organization belongs, and which brings together teachers from many countries.
With the purpose of spreading the art he held seminars around the world, being considered one of the most valued international masters.
His teachings reached every continent.
Our immense gratitude for his invaluable contribution to this art we love so much.
Personally, my gratitude for offering me your friendship and guidance on this my chosen path, for almost 25 year.  I will not forget his teachings and his example.
Rest in Peace, my master.
